Tolan raises $30M
Tolan, a San Francisco, California-based developer of a voice-first artificial intelligence companion, raised $30M in funding. Backers included Union Square Ventures (USV), Khosla Ventures, and Homebrew.
The company intends to use the funds to further develop its underlying long-term memory architecture, expand its multimodal voice-processing capabilities, scale its machine learning engineering teams, and accelerate user acquisition for its personal organization ecosystem.
Led by CEO Quinten Farmer, CTO Evan Goldschmidt, and President Ajay Mehta, Tolan develops a voice-native artificial intelligence companion equipped with persistent, long-term memory frameworks engineered to help consumers manage complex everyday tasks, retrieve historical personal context, and streamline digital organization.
The startup has transitioned its core conversational technology out of private beta, establishing secure data storage protocols to support continuous contextual learning across multiple user devices.
