Investment: “Surge Games raises $3 million”
Surge Games, an AI-focused mobile game studio that develops easy-to-learn, short-session puzzle games, has raised $3 million in a funding round led by Simya VC.
The round also included investments from Play Ventures and Drilo Ventures.
Founded in April 2026 by four co‑founders in Istanbul, Surge Games builds puzzle games grounded in player psychology and has its first title, Twin Tiles!, live. The company is led by co‑founder and CEO Onur Uras.
Surge Games places artificial intelligence at the center of its production approach to accelerate and improve development: it uses AI to test new game mechanics rapidly and to create a scalable game development model focused on original puzzle experiences for a global audience.
The investment will be used to grow the team, strengthen user acquisition efforts and scale the studio’s best-performing games with the right metrics.
“Surge Games’ founding team has long experience across game, product, data and growth. Placing that experience at the very center of AI-driven game development was decisive for our investment. Rapid prototyping and testing is one of the most differentiating factors in the global mobile games market; we believe the team can deliver on this. Surge Games is our 17th portfolio company and our first investment outside a strict B2B focus — as Simya VC we remain focused but act flexibly for high‑potential special situations. We have full confidence in Surge Games’ potential in Turkey’s globally successful games sector.” — Selma Bahçıvanoğlu, Managing Partner at Simya VC
“We focus on creating original and innovative puzzle experiences for players worldwide. Our goal is to deeply understand player behavior and expectations, develop unique mechanics, and deliver them quickly and efficiently through our AI‑supported production infrastructure. Completing this round with investors who believed in our vision from the start and know the games industry well is very valuable. We are at the beginning of the journey, but with the right team and partners we believe we will build globally successful games.” — Onur Uras, Co‑founder and CEO of Surge Games
