Investment: “Strolll raises €5 million”
Strolll, a Stafford-based software-as-a-medical-device company using augmented reality for neurorehabilitation, has secured a new round of investment led by IW Capital alongside separate Innovate UK awards that together provide €5 million in funding. The package includes a €4.18 million Innovate UK innovation loan and an €813.2k Growth Catalyst Investor Partnerships (GCIP) award, with IW Capital leading the private investment element.
Other investors participating in the round include Cleveland Clinic and Future Planet Capital Regional. Innovate UK’s two awards fund distinct projects for the company and, together with the private investment, back Strolll’s next phase of product development and commercialisation.
Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Stafford, Strolll develops digital therapeutics delivered via AR glasses to provide clinically proven and patented neurorehabilitation for patients living with neurological disorders. The company’s SaMD supports therapy in both clinic and home settings and aims to increase patient engagement, support progression and help clinicians deliver effective neurorehabilitation at scale. Jorgen Ellis is CEO and co-founder.
Strolll is developing two specific products supported by the funding: StrolllAssessment, a platform that combines AI with a fully equipped biomechanics lab mirroring real-world rehabilitation settings to validate digital neuromotor assessments more quickly and at scale; and StrolllAcute, a bedside-first augmented reality rehabilitation system designed for acute, bed-bound patients to enable early therapeutic intervention without changing existing ward workflows or increasing staff burden. In March 2025 the company raised a €12.2 million Series A round led by IW Capital.
The Innovate UK innovation loan will accelerate development of StrolllAssessment, extend the platform’s AI capabilities to automate clinical validation of digital assessments and fund the establishment of a biomechanics lab at Strolll’s Stafford office to allow multiple validation studies to run concurrently. The GCIP award, together with more than €1.16 million in investor funding, will support introduction of StrolllAcute and broader commercial rollout, and the combined financing is intended to accelerate the company’s growth and extend its product leadership.
“Our team is committed to revolutionising rehabilitation for those living with neurological disorders. This funding will help us accelerate our mission to increase patient engagement, support progression and help clinicians deliver effective neurorehabilitation to a wider patient population,” said Jorgen Ellis, CEO and co‑founder of Strolll.
“Across two innovations, Strolll has secured Innovate UK backing because it has proven both its technical excellence and a credible route to commercial success. De-risking later stage innovation through debt finance while providing grant alongside private capital demonstrates how Innovate UK is committed to providing the right product at the right time to accelerate innovation and fuel catalyse business growth,” said Scott O’Brien, Chief Investment Officer at Innovate UK.
