Investment: “Solace Care raises €2.1 million”
Solace Care, a Stockholm-based end-of-life platform, has raised a pre-Seed round of €2.1 million led by Spintop Ventures.
The round also saw participation from Plug and Play, Caroline Farberger (former CEO of ICA Försäkring), Fredrik Solberg (former CEO of Eir Insurance), Emil Lagerstedt-Karlsson (former VP Insurance & Insurtech at Insurely), Tomi Yli-Kyyny (former CEO of Fennia), Stefan Moritz (former Head of Innovation at Max Matthiessen), Further Than Capital, Mattias Miksche, Krim Talia and Wave Ventures.
Solace Care was founded in 2025 by Valtteri Korkiakoski and Josef Karakoca. The company provides a digital platform for legacy planning and support after loss, sold through life insurers and brokers. Policyholders can record their wishes, gather documents and leave clear instructions in a secure vault they can share with family; after a loss the platform guides families through practical administration institution by institution, with human support alongside the digital service.
Since its first policyholders in mid-2025, Solace Care has grown to cover more than 25,000 lives across Sweden, Finland and Norway. The service is available in Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian, with plans to scale into Denmark and the Netherlands.
The new capital will be used to deepen Nordic carrier and broker partnerships, build out enterprise sales capability, expand into the Netherlands and the UK (where Solace Care has appointed local commercial advisors), and grow its product and commercial teams with senior hires.
“Today, insurance pays out and then the family is on their own for the next six months. We are redefining personal insurance, so the support is not only a payment. It should help the family keep going.” — Valtteri Korkiakoski, CEO and co-founder of Solace Care
