Investment: “Piney raises €1.6 million”
Piney, a Cyprus-founded cleaning and operations provider for short- and mid-term rental property managers, has raised €1.6 million in a funding round led by Uni.fund.
The round also saw participation from 33East and joins an investor base that includes VENTERI Capital.
Founded in 2022 by Nicolas Chrysostomou, Piney runs a full operational layer for short- and mid-term rental managers, covering cleaning, laundry and linen management, and the sourcing and placement of guest amenities, all coordinated through its own technology platform. The company says it serves over 5,000 properties across Spain, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, France and the United States and can cut the operational workload of property managers by up to 80% through its combination of in-house cleaning teams, automated scheduling and a real-time monitoring dashboard.
Since its last funding round in December 2024, which was led by Uni.fund and amounted to €1.2 million, Piney has expanded from 1,300 to 5,000 properties, nearly quadrupling its footprint. Spain is now its biggest market, with teams in Madrid, Barcelona and Malaga, and it recently launched services in Miami as its first market outside Europe. The company says its platform enables it to scale like a software company rather than a traditional, people-heavy hospitality business.
Piney will use the new funding to deepen its position in existing European markets, accelerate development of its technology platform and support its expansion outside Europe. The company is increasingly adopting AI across its platform — it already reviews, in real time, photos that cleaners take during property checks to catch problems before staff leave the property — and plans to build AI further into its workflow.
“This round is about taking what we’ve proven across Europe and bringing it to the world. In under two years, we’ve almost quadrupled the properties we serve, and our technology, increasingly AI-driven, is what makes that pace possible. Property managers everywhere face the same operational challenges, and with Miami, we’re showing that Piney’s model travels,” said Nicolas Chrysostomou, founder and CEO of Piney.
