Investment: “Octave.energy raises €10 million”
Octave.energy, a Mechelen-based CleanTech startup that develops smart battery energy storage systems and energy management solutions, has raised €10 million in a Series A round led by SPDG Growth, the family office of the Périer-D’Ieteren family.
The round comprises equity and flexible debt financing. imec.istart, BNP Paribas Fortis and KBC also participated in the financing.
Founded in 2020, Octave.energy began by developing and producing its own circular battery storage system with integrated control and monitoring. The company now focuses on first-life LFP battery energy storage systems and offers customers fully integrated batteries paired with its Energy Management System (EMS).
Octave.energy combines Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with its EMS to help industrial customers, SMEs and the agricultural sector increase self-consumption of solar energy, reduce peak consumption, manage EV charging, access additional power in grid-constrained areas and monetise flexibility on energy markets. Since inception the company reports it has delivered systems representing more than 200 MWh of storage capacity and served over 400 businesses, including Colruyt Group, McDonald’s, Eneco, Naturgy and Nextensa. The startup has been profitable for three consecutive years and generated €16 million in revenue in 2025.
Octave.energy will use the funding to accelerate its expansion across Europe, primarily by growing local sales and operations teams in the Netherlands, France and Germany and continuing to scale through its network of installation partners. The capital will also support ongoing development of its EMS and asset management platforms, with a focus on ensuring long-term battery system performance.
