Investment: “Nawy Now raises USD 12.3M”
Nawy Now, the mortgage-financing arm of PropTech platform Nawy, closed its second issuance of an Ijarah-based fixed-income fund at USD 12.3 million in a transaction completed with Synergy Capital.
The issuance attracted a mix of returning institutional investors and new participants, and for the first time under the programme included non-governmental, non-profit organisations as investors.
Founded in 2019, Nawy operates a full-stack real estate ecosystem addressing property buying and financing, renting, asset management and investment. Nawy Now is its licensed mortgage-financing arm regulated by Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority and offers mortgage financing with tenors of up to seven years.
The programme is structured around an ijarah (lease-to-own) model that delivers Shariah-compliant, fixed-income returns backed by real-estate mortgage receivables. The five-year securitization programme targets USD 97.8 million; the second issuance takes total capital raised under the programme above USD 19.6 million in under a year. The first issuance closed at USD 8.7 million in October 2025 after being oversubscribed and has since distributed approximately USD 2.3 million to certificate holders across three payment cycles. Synergy Capital acted as financial advisor, promoter and placement lead, while Misr for Financial Investments (MFIC) served as asset manager and Mubasher for Securities & Bond Trading provided subscription and redemption services.
Nawy Now will use the programme as a recurring institutional funding channel to expand its mortgage origination portfolio and plans further issuances as origination grows, targeting institutional and qualified investors in Egypt with plans to extend to Gulf and other international markets through licensed placement partners.
“Each issuance strengthens a scalable channel that connects institutional capital to real estate. The performance of the first issuance and the repeat participation in the second reinforce our conviction in the Nawy Now model as a long-term engine for mortgage finance in Egypt,” Omar El Barouny, Managing Director, Nawy Now
