Investment: “Kazimi raises €2.2M”

Berlin-based mobile cybersecurity startup Kazimi has raised €2.2 million in an oversubscribed pre-seed round led by Market One Capital.

Other participants included IBB Ventures and several mobile and technology industry executives, including Petri Hyökyranta, Janne Peltola and Erik Massmann.

Kazimi was founded by a team with prior experience building security and fraud-detection systems at mobile measurement company Adjust. Andreas Naumann is a co-founder and the company’s Chief Product Officer; the venture is based in Berlin. The company develops security technology that secures communication signals generated by apps, enabling developers to collect and verify first-party data, identify non-human activity and maintain user privacy.

Kazimi’s solution uses privacy-preserving cryptographic proofs to verify interactions without compromising users’ personal data, aiming to improve the accuracy of data used for analytics, marketing and AI. Its current clients include mobile gaming studios, rewards platforms and fintech apps.

The funding will be used to scale Kazimi’s technology and expand its presence in the global mobile advertising market.

Until now it has been technically impossible for app developers to have true visibility on which signals originate from real users and which signals come from bots. With our advanced security solution, we are closing the loop and enabling app developers to protect their most important resource – their first party data, said Andreas Naumann, co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Kazimi.
