Investment: “Gimlet Labs raises $300M”

Gimlet Labs, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of artificial intelligence infrastructure and distributed software platforms, raised $300m in a Series B funding round at a $3 billion valuation led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z).

Other participants in the round included Sapphire Ventures, Menlo Ventures, 645 Ventures, Arm, Eclipse, Emergence Capital, Factory, Hudson River Trading, M12, OnePrime Capital, Prosperity7, QuantumLight, Samsung Ventures, Tiger Global Management, Triatomic, Wing Venture Capital and XTX Markets.

Co-founded by CEO Zain Asgar along with Michelle Nguyen, Omid Azizi, Natalie Serrino and James Bartlett, Gimlet Labs develops a multi-silicon inference cloud and disaggregated compiler infrastructure designed to deliver ultra-low latency execution with maximum power efficiency. The company operates a unified, high-throughput software stack behind a single inference API that decomposes complex neural networks and splits processing workloads using advanced heterogeneous disaggregation techniques.

The platform separates compute-bound prefill cycles from memory-bandwidth-bound decode cycles and implements attention-FFN splits and speculative-decode disaggregation. It programmatically routes each granular model phase across an optimal cluster of mixed hardware accelerators, including GPUs, near-memory compute, dataflow architectures and CPUs.

The company will use the capital to scale its multi-silicon cloud capacity, secure gigawatts of high-density data center pipelines, expand its serverless and managed cloud deployments and grow its organization across systems architecture, data center operations, distributed networks and hardware compilers.
