Koi, a cybersecurity startup that provides full visibility into modern software ecosystems on enterprise endpoints, is reportedly in talks to be acquired by Palo Alto Networks for approximately 400 million dollars.

Palo Alto Networks, which acquired CyberArk for 25 billion dollars last July, is pursuing the deal to bolster its ability to monitor software components across enterprise environments and expand its security portfolio, though the companies have not issued an official statement.

Koi was founded in 2024 by Amit Assaraf, Idan Dardikman and Itay Kruk. The company focuses on providing comprehensive visibility not only into operating systems and executables but also into software components such as plugins, libraries and developer tools.

Its Supply Chain Gateway offers a central control point for all software entering an organization, while the AI-powered Wings risk engine analyzes previously unseen threats in real time. Koi protects more than 500,000 endpoints and its customer roster includes OpenAI, Jump Trading and Fireblocks; the startup has raised 48 million dollars to date.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Palo Alto Networks’ capabilities in software supply chain visibility and complement its recent high-profile purchases in 2025, including Protect AI, CyberArk and Chronosphere.
